Indian American Muslim group calls on Indian Home Minister to clarify his remarks on Jihad

Indian Muslim Council-USA (IMC-USA: http://www.imc- usa.org) an advocacy group dedicated towards safeguarding India's pluralist and tolerant ethos, calls on Indian Home Minister Chidambaram to clarify his remarks on Jihad in his address to Intelligence Bureau on Wednesday the 23rd of December, 2009.
According to reports Mr. P. Chidambaram, the Home Minister of India at the 22nd Intelligence Bureau Centenary Endowment Lecture, equated Jihad with terrorism while referring to Crusades as a conventional war. He reportedly also stated that Jihad is war against unbelievers. He also stated that the tactics of Jihadis have been copied by other militant groups including Hindu militant groups.
Indian American Muslim group demands immediate civil and criminal action against all accused in the Liberhan Report

Indian Muslim Council-USA (http://www.imc-usa.org), an advocacy group dedicated towards safeguarding India's pluralist and tolerant ethos, demands the Indian government to bring the criminals to justice involved in the demolition of the 16th century Babri Mosque in the city of Ayodhya in the State of Uttar Pradesh, India as identified in the Report of the Liberhan Ayodhya Commission of Inquiry that was released recently.
Indian Muslim Council-USA further demands that the Indian government honor the promise given by the former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao to re-build the mosque on its original site.
Liberhan Comission Report Inquiring the Destruction of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya on Dec 6th, 1992
After seventeen years, 399 sittings and examining 100 witnesses the Liberhan Comission has submitted its 1000 page report inquiring into the circumstances that lead up to the demolition of the 16th century Babri Masjid in Ayodhya by Hindu extremists on Dec 6th 1992.
The Liberhan Commission Report was tabled in the Lok Sabha, the Indian Parliament on Nov 24, 2009.

Indian American Muslim group pays tribute to the victims including the law and order personals, most notably ATS Chief Hemant Karkare, on the first anniversary of Mumbai terror attacks Indian Muslim Council-USA (IMC-USA: http://www.imc-usa.org), an advocacy group dedicated towards safeguarding India’s pluralist and tolerant ethos, pays tribute on the first anniversary of Mumbai terror attacks to the victims of the Mumbai terror attacks. IMC-USA remembers with gratitude the courage and sacrifice of the law and order personals, most notably ATS Chief Hemant Karkare, who laid their lives protecting the country.
IMC-USA also expressed concerns about the implications of the draconian parts of the laws hastily passed in the height of the emotions of Mumbai terror attacks without sufficient deliberations.

Indian Muslim Council - USA (IMC-USA: http://www.imc-usa.org/), an advocacy group working towards safeguarding India's pluralist and tolerant ethos, welcomes the decision of FDI magazine to not honor Narendra Modi as the Asian Personality of 2009. This is indeed a recognition by FDI magazine that Narendra Modi at best is a controversial figure, facing legal scrutiny under the direction of the highest court of India in his role in the mass murders of thousands of innocent citizens, mass rapes of unknown number of women and young girls and destruction of properties including places of worship.
